The Joy of Seeing Others Learn

Today we discovered that one of our older coworkers had never heard of the game rock-paper-scissors. This was one of the rare moments in life that others get to experience someone learning something new in it's entirety and knowing all there is to know about something.

We were all surprised that he had gone through his entire life never having played the game -- something that seems so ingrained in our culture, but it seems like it is a precursor to the next few months where I'll be teaching over 50 High Schoolers new skills that will hopefully lead to rewarding and prosperous futures.

It makes me excited! Watching others learn new skills that they can put to use is one of the overlooked joys in life.
